César Fernando Alvarez Rojas is the Director of Avocado Agriculture at GORDIAN S.A., bringing over 30 years of experience in sustainable agricultural practices and farm management. With a deep passion for farming and a commitment to excellence, he oversees all aspects of avocado cultivation, ensuring that our farms produce high-quality, sustainable avocados that meet the needs of both our customers and the environment.
He holds two university degrees, an Agricultural Engineering degree from Universidad Rafael Landívar in Guatemala and an MBA in International Management from EUNCET Business School in Spain. Throughout his career, he has gained extensive experience in various agricultural roles, including positions at Ingenio La Unión in Guatemala and Corporativo GRULOP in Mexico. César has a proven track record of implementing innovative farming techniques that enhance yield, reduce waste, lower costs, and promote biodiversity.
At GORDIAN S.A., César leads a dedicated team of agronomists and farm managers focused on best practices in avocado cultivation, pest control, and soil health. They are committed to using sustainable agricultural methods that not only increase productivity but also protect the ecosystem for future generations.
César is also passionate about community engagement and education, working closely with local farmers and agricultural organizations to share knowledge and promote sustainable practices across the industry. He firmly believes that collaboration and education are key to driving agricultural innovation and improving the livelihoods of those in the farming community.
Outside of work, César enjoys hiking, climbing volcanoes, and playing basketball, and is an active member of the National Avocado Association (ANAGUACATE).
